They have been called the Greatest Generation: 16 million Americans who fought in World War II and built the country we enjoy today. That legacy is quickly disappearing. Fewer than 700,000 World War II veterans are still alive; within 20 years, there will be no one left to tell their stories.

The B-17 Alliance Foundation was formed in 2006 to keep that legacy alive. We are restoring the B-17 Lacey Lady to airworthy condition and building a museum to bring the history of World War II to life. Few B-17s are left and less than a dozen are airworthy.

  • National Day of Prayer honors those who helped maintain our freedom to worship

Join the B-17 Alliance Foundation for breakfast on Thursday, May 4 for the National Day of Prayer. Salem Mayor Mayor Chuck Bennett will open the breakfast, and many other dignitaries will be in attendance to share your prayers. The Willamette Master Chorus under the direction of Dr. Paul Klemme will provide vocal entertainment.

Our featured speaker will be Mitch Sparks, director of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs (ODVA). From helping veterans to obtain education, medical or other benefits, to ensuring they receive all earned medals and military awards, ODVA helps our veterans and their families improve their quality of life.

Breakfast is just $15. A suggested donation of $25 will help us advance our mission to restore the Lacey Lady. All proceeds benefit the Foundation.
